So here I am, doing the dishes all calm like, when suddenly, I feel something crawling over my leg. One of the mice has got loose! She learned how to open the cage by herself. I knew that day would come. Now I have to come up with new and inventive ways of keeping them in there.

Our guests are leaving in a few hours. I wonder what will happen after that. The anticipation of the visit was kindda what was driving me these past few months.

Off course in the time honored tradition I must get sick sometime before my birthday. We've hit the beginning of the rainy season and I have 7 new babies.

As previously advertised... Also, a short vid about what the things do when mom is away.

Also, I've been meaning to do this...

Hmmm.... Have just watched KKBB. Yep, that's a goodly film. Also read [livejournal.com profile] roadstergal's KKBB fanfic. I do wish she'd write more. With more slash. *cough*

What else? Still sleeping on an inflateable matress as I threw away my bed before repainting (I had to, the thing was evil), playing with the babies and trying to ignore the fact they have to go in about a week and I don't know what to do with them, waiting for my aunt and cousin to come at last... Oh, and it's soon to be a whole year since I was discharged, and what have I done? Not a damn thing.

More babies. 10 this time. They are like clockwork: three weeks - bam! I suppose by rights I should keep them separated, but I just don't have the heart. They look so sad when they're apart poor things. Anyway, I like having the babies. They're cute, and funny to watch. Makes me happy every time. New life born in my room, isn't it cool?

Her name is Eve and she is afraid of alcohol. When she sees it or smells it or even hears it mentioned she runs away from the room. Very funny to watch.

I gave away the babies today. It wasn't nearly as hard as the first time, but still - not fun.
Alice seemed to be afraid of them, which I found highly amusing.

The war is still going strong. I think it's just getting worse. I try not to think about it too much as there is absolutlely nothing I can do, so it's best not to drive myself crazy with it, but it's there. Can't ignore it completely.

Well, now I have a cat. And 13 mice. Interesting combo. My mom came up with a way for it to work, though. It involves me sleeping in the living room. Where the big TV is. And the Red Dwarf DVD's. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices.

I've forggoten how beautiful the cat is. Every time I see here she's more gorgous.

Cat!!!

Our friends are going on holiday, and leaving their cat with us.
So starting next week I have this gorgous creature )
Her name is Alice. Of course it will involve complex logistics regarding the mice, but it will be well worth it.

The baby mice started opening their eyes. It's amazing how quickly it happens. Litterally in a few minutes. You can immidiately observe a change in their behaviour once they can see.
Anyway, it makes me happy. Greatly improoved what was rather a rotten mood. They enter the most adorable phaze now.

Babies. Complete with waking me up in the middle of the night. I haven't counted them yet, it's difficult to do when they're all huddled together. Oh well, the babies make me happy.

Edit: Yep, there's 11 of them. I just knew there will be 11, even before they were born, how I have no idea.

I'm still upset over the...bad thing...So, I buy thing to cheer myself up. I bought The Hitchhiker's movie and also (and particularly pleased about that one) the TV series! I love the TV series!
In unrelated news, there are going to be more little baby mice. Don't know when, but it looks like any day, hell, any hour now.

I was eating curry and Dave just went mad. Ran to the edge of the cage and looked at me with begging eyes. Now, I've not gone so mad as to give the mouse curry (yet), wouldn't wanna hurt the poor thing, but still....wierd.

Well, I did it. I gave the babies away. It's probably not a little childish, but I'm really sad about it. I can't help thinking about what will become of them and whether they will find a good home or not. At least they have each other.

The mouse is drinking my tea. Can't get enough of it.
Wierd.

I've been monitoring the babies for two weeks now. It's facinating watching them change from day to day. They look almost like small adult mice now. They opened their eyes for the first time today! It will be time to part from them soon.

Babies!

Itty bitty little mice babies! Nine of them! Isn't life a wonderful thing? I only noticed she was pregnant a few days ago...Silly Anna. They are tiny, bald, blind little things. Pink too. I can actually see some of their internal organs and blood vesells, like the lungs for example. Preety cool.

Gosh, they do make a lot of noise though. They woke me up at night. It's a tiny, high pitched squeek, but there is nine of them and they all seem to squeek at once :)

....To my little ones. I spent half the evening trying to dicipline the mice. Sometimes they get along great and even curl up to sleep together in that adorable way, but they also fight. I tried to impose the idea that fighting is wrong, buy not giving the guilty party any treats. You know, the old stick and carrot routine (of course, in this case there is actual carrot and no stick).
Seems to be working so far.
